Please find the job\r\ndetails below.\r\n\r\n*Robotics Software Intern*\r\nThe candidate will be working in the Technology Organization (R&amp;D) at\r\niRobot on problems related to mapping and navigation for next generation\r\nmobile robot platforms. The candidate will develop code in C++\/Python (most\r\nof the time) to address critical issues and add new features related to\r\niRobot's proprietary SLAM system, learn more about iRobot's SLAM system and\r\ndo research in unexplored areas related to mapping and navigation. Apart\r\nfrom this, the candidate will also be involved in managing robots for\r\ntesting.\r\n\r\n*Areas of interest include:*\r\n\r\n   - Computer Vision\r\n   - Navigation \/ SLAM \/ 3D Reconstruction\r\n   - Robotics\r\n\r\n*Qualifications:*\r\n\r\n   - Students pursuing degrees in Computer Science\/Engineering, Robotics,\r\n   Machine Learning or similar are encouraged to apply\r\n   - Proficient in C++ and Python, Comfortable in Linux\r\n   - Good understanding of CS concepts (data structures &amp; algorithms)\r\n   - Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication\r\n   skills\r\n   - Ability to work well in a team environment\r\n   - Ability to independently evaluate state-of-the art research approaches\r\n   and reduce them to practice\r\n\r\n*Bonus qualifications, depending on project:*\r\n\r\n   - Experience with Computer Vision techniques, in particular object\r\n   recognition, structure from motion\/visual odometry, feature detection &amp;\r\n   tracking\r\n   - Experience with Embedded Computing \/ Mobile Architectures\r\n   - Knowledge of SLAM systems - EKF, Graphslam, etc.\r\n   - Knowledge of Robotics concepts, such as probabilistic robotics,\r\n   occupancy grids, sensors, control systems, kinematics, dynamics, motion\r\n   planning\r\n\r\nThanks,\r\n\r\nNandan Banerjee\r\nRobotics Software Engineer (iRobot)\r\nEmail: <a href=\"mailto:nbanerjee@irobot.com\">nbanerjee@irobot.com<\/a><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have two Summer \/ Fall 2018 internship positions at iRobot&#8217;s Technology Organization.
