Internship at Stevenson Astrosat

Lewis Dale on the ACS jobs Facebook page says: Stevenson Astrosat are currently looking for software engineers to come and work at their Edinburgh offices.

I’m currently doing an internship there, and the work is really interesting; it’s using satellite data for a variety of uses, including disaster recovery.

If this sounds interesting to you, send a CV and a small portfolio of work over to info@astrosat.biz, ir if you would like a bit more information feel free to drop me a message.

They really are a great company to work for, and you would be just in time to move into their new office, a newly-refurbished church in the centre of Musselburgh.

Paid summer placements with companies in the space industry

Paid summer placements with companies in the space industry:

The first opportunities are now advertised. More placements will be added in the coming months, but it is up to you to keep an eye out for the new ones. Applications this year will be handled via an online form, but will require a CV and information that might otherwise be included in a covering letter. Please speak to Amanda/Careers/your tutor/any member of staff you know well if you don’t understand this. They report that many students don’t seem to appreciate the opportunity that a covering letter (or these paragraphs) gives them to promote their own individuality or to separate themselves from the crowd.

Summer placement at Sky

Ryan Gouldsmith (ryg1) says:

“Sky’s summer internship application seems to be closing on the 8th if any students going into their final year are interested. https://jobs.sky.com/job/leeds/software-engineering-academy-developer-summer-placement-2016/1748/960750 Is the application form. Based in London (and I believe Leeds).

Was a really beneficial scheme and I managed to get the grad job at the end – so it was definitely worth it.”

Closing date is 2pm on 8th December. They also have graduate programmes to apply for.
