I have just heard from IS that they had two applicants for three jobs for the IT Service Desk (deadline 17th April). Both those who applied will be interviewed. However, as they still need at least one more, they have extended the deadline.

They are interested in our industrial year scheme, and may consider employing an IY student.
What they do is likely to interest people in the fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, but they also want software engineers. If any of you are doing a joint degree with Geography, that may well also be of interest to them.

You may recall meeting Jonathan Knight from Gloversure at Gregynog in October. The company has employed IY students in the past in Welshpool, and I know one or two of you already have placements there for next year.
For the first time now, they are advertising a placement in Chester, for mobile app development. This could be a very exciting opportunity for anyone interested in that field.
