Dear Final Year Students / Graduates,
British Council Language Assistants Opportunity, CHINA: Applications now open!
The British Council is currently recruiting 100 graduates to become English Language Assistants in China. We’re looking for open minded, mature and adaptable individuals from across the UK. You need to have at least a 2nd class degree (from any subject) by summer 2013 to apply but do not need any previous teaching experience or a knowledge of Mandarin to participate in the programme.
You will live and teach in China for approximately ten months where you will receive a local salary of 3-4500 RMB per month, free accommodation, plus your return flights reimbursed. The programme begins with a two week TEFL induction course in Beijing in August 2013 and teaching follows the Chinese school year from Sept 2012 to June 2013. You will gain valuable skills and life experience – impressing future employers upon your return. Previous English Language Assistants have gone on to pursue successful careers in journalism, teaching, business, charity work, and international relations.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know the ‘real’ China whilst giving something back to the community.
Find out more about the programme and how to apply here: http://www.britishcouncil.org/languageassistants-china.htm.
Deadline for applications is 3rd December 2012. Apply early as you will need to send us some additional documents to complete your application. (Details on the website)
