This has just landed in my inbox, from Mimecast, in London. Once again, as it’s come to us directly, they are targeting us, though I don’t know much about this company.

Plymouth Marine Laboratory come to us every year for IY students, and we have often had more than one student there. It’s a nice location, and (as I remember) largely a Linux establishment.

So this one is definitely worth a go if you like the sound of it!

One of our second years has just had to turn down a placement offer with CodeThink. So, the company says they are still looking for students for an IY. It looks a very exciting placement opportunity, so definitely one worth going for if you are into software engineering and Linux. Kernel work, anyone?

This is more likely to suit a Business IT student; I think we wouldn’t be too happy with a software engineer doing it. Though if you’re Comp Sci and you’re really keen on it, make a case to us (but we might say no).
