Graduate job at Cardiff Uni

Dan Thorne has emailed us to say that they have a graduate position at Cardiff Uni you might like:

We have a job opportunity here at Cardiff University, which I know will be a great fit for any graduates you have from Comp Sci.

As an Aber Comp Sci graduate myself (in 2013), this was the position I started off at in Cardiff University and is a great way to get into the industry.

The role is a *Systems Administrator* for the Management Information Systems team in the HR Department.

I’ve provided a link below which candidates will need to use in order to apply for the position, and to get a little bit more information.

PwC Open Day

PwC are having an Open Day in Bristol, paying expenses:

“As a result of the high interest we’ve received for our technology career routes this year, we’ve decided to host an “Insight into Technology” Career Open Day in our Bristol office on Wednesday 10th February, from 10am -3.30pm.

This will provide students with a great opportunity to learn about the vital role technology plays in the business world, and to find out more about the various graduate and undergraduate career opportunities available in the West & Wales region, and across the UK. This will be a highly interactive event, which will explore the latest trends in technology and the future of technical innovation for businesses. Our Technology leadership team will run several group exercises and case studies throughout the day to help bring these trends to life, and our technology graduates and senior managers will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions you might have.

We’ll also put on a networking lunch half way through the day, which will give you the chance to meet with a range of staff at the firm over a bite to eat. Finally, we’ll close the event by explaining what we look for in the recruitment process and how to submit a successful application for a position in technology or otherwise. ”

You are also able to claim back reasonable travel expenses (up to £150). To reserve your place on this event, please sign up via this link: http://pwc.to/1ZyAxtq

IY at Experian in Nottingham

Alex Stuart, an ACS graduate says:

A placeholder of sorts, but we’ve just received funding to take on an industrial year student next academic year (16-17 term) in our Enterprise System Management team at Experian. The ESM team focus on system monitoring, process automation, and IT service systems.

The role will require programming skills (I am still awaiting to hear which particular languages, as my experience with the department is coding in REXX, mainframe specific!). The potentially successful candidate would also have the chance to work with popular enterprise technologies like Splunk and CA service desk.

The infrastructure you would be supporting would be cutting edge, for one of the leading information services companies in the world.

The role would be based in Nottingham, and I will hopefully have more details for you all ASAP!
